Bonnie Jensen: Master Artist

We have another master artist to feature this week here at Sandau Fine Art Gallery at 461 W. 200 S, in Vernal, Utah! Bonnie Jensen just brought two new works this past week. Here is what the artist said about her pieces.

Come in and see these along with all the other beautiful art for sale here at our gallery.

“Akumai”

In this compelling underwater tableau, a majestic sea turtle glides effortlessly through an oceanic realm bathed in shifting shades of blue. Its shell and flippers are transformed into an intricate mosaic of warm earth tones—rich browns, glowing oranges, and luminous golds—that seem to capture the very essence of ancient textures and hidden stories beneath the waves. Two smaller fish, shimmering in delicate blues and whites with touches of yellow, swim in quiet companionship, their presence enhancing the scene’s rhythm and harmony. Subtle beams of light pierce the depths, hinting at a world both alive and mysterious, where natural beauty and abstraction merge to evoke a tranquil, yet enigmatic journey beneath the surface.

"The Great White"

I’m excited to share my latest oil painting, "The Great White." It features a calm white pelican floating gracefully on deep, tranquil waters painted in rich blues, purples, and hints of green. The detailed feathers, with touches of light yellow and brown, bring texture and depth to the bird, while its long orange-brown beak stands out with careful shading. Inspired by the incredible sight of American White Pelicans near Utah’s Strawberry Reservoir and their migration to the Great Salt Lake, this piece blends realism with abstract shapes in the water and heavy textures on the pelican to highlight the quiet beauty and mystery of their journey.
